Forum Upgrade

Wanted to test a different forum, and found the theme updating and security/plugins to be better than PHPBB3 so upgraded.

The shout box actually saves the posts, and forever, instead of making them disappear after a month, or whatever the old one did.

Please let me know if you come across any issues, but I've been testing and so far everything is working well.

So like....this post is from 100 years ago, and I'm bored and just poking around these dead ass forums. I kind of disappeared for quite awhile, and for that I apologize. There's not all that much to say on my part. Some of you know a little about what's happened, some of you probably think you know, but really have no idea, and the majority of you probably don't give a damn, which I can't blame you for.

I still value the friendships I made through UO very much, and the true friends I had in that world will always be with me. It's a bit frustrating to find out the true colors of some people, but I suppose the old adage rings true that you must sift through the bad in order to find the good. I know I made my mistakes, but I never sacrificed a friendship for my own benefit. That's all I will say on that subject. I hope everyone has been doing well, and please know that I miss you all and the fun we had together in UO. There are several of you that I will never forget, and I thank you for that.

Anyway, I still enjoy coming here to reflect and remember the past and to think that someday I might try to come here, only to find that the site doesn't exist anymore, really saddens me, but I understand. To some UO was just a computer game, but to all of us it was something more than that.

To those that cared enough to worry about me when I was M.I.A., thank you, and you know who you are. To those that didn't, I don't have any resentments, because I still think and wonder about you guys after all this time.

Just to update everyone on where I am, I'm living in Indiana now with my girlfriend, Marissa, and although it's cold here, I'm happier than I have been in a very long time. This is one of the last pictures we took on the beach in Texas.

An Addition to Community Hunts Starting Soon!
Advanced Champion Spawns Every Saturday Night
(beginning Saturday February 21st)

Many of you may know Elendil Felagund as a former admiral with past invasions. He is willing to lead the cause again but this time in search of fortune for all who choose to participate. He has recently volunteered to host an additional community hunt for us players to gather for the more advanced champion spawns that Ilshenar and Malas have to offer.

Currently there are 3 champion battles that are less battled due to the sheer intensity and multiple deaths that ensue:

The Pestilence Champion Spawn located under the graveyard in Bedlam, Umbra
The Twisted Wield Champion Spawn located in Twisted Wield, Spirituality
The Tormented Minotaur Champion Spawn located in the Labyrinth, Malas

Every Saturday night at 8pm CST all players interested in doing the Advanced Champion Spawn Community Hunt will meet above the bank in Luna. Take the steps up next to the Shrine of Wisdom in the meeting room there.

The Advanced Champs will start taking place Saturday February 21st to give everyone enough time to research and plan out their form of attack. The first champ will be the Pestilence Champ in Bedlam. We will update you as the day approaches with a hunterâs guideline of what to expect at each level.

Winter is fun!

Just wanted to comment on winter and the kindness of others. I woke up about 7:30 this morning to the sound of a snow blower. The neighbor's drive is right out the window, so figured it was their neighbor helping them, as they don't have a snow blower (or didn't as of last snowfall). Well I get up and ready and look out my other window, and notice my driveway was done as well. I couldn't even tell where the sound was coming from so they must have done theirs then mine!

I'll still have to do the walkway up front and in back, but that was a very kind gesture, and another good thing about my neighborhood. We got a good 3-4 inches, and I had told my neighbor our snow blower was not working last snowfall when it was icy as well, but fortunately it's working now (it was just a bad spark plug), and I was mentally preparing myself to get up and do it, and now the bulk is done.

Our neighbor had his drive done last time, but we had not, so I was doing it the old fashioned way, when he came over to return the favor given to him. Got to talking and I'm sure he let the other neighbor know about our situation, and he came over to help us as well.

So I know of 3 neighbors now that are very kind. Actually the 4th might be as well, as she offered my father-in-law babysitting time for us. She's a registered nurse working at the hospital and knows about Spina Bifida. We haven't spoken with her yet, but if/when we do that'll be another neighbor that rocks.

That was a major concern for me, as you just don't know exactly who you will be living with, but at least now I know this side of the street are all awesome!

Ziggy aka Microelf on the stratics forums and real life Tim Smith passed away January 28th.

There is a memorial setup for him at http://tribbit.com/tribute/34246.html and there are forum posts on stratics in the u.hall and LS forums. I'm at work and will add those links when I can.

He was a member of our guild and our friends guild C*S, and a very active community member. He was very open and honest and straightforward and I loved him for that. He will surely be missed.

Strange thing happened at DF

I was doing the DF and I died (nothing strange about that lol) anywho I went to get rezzed and as soon as I was alive a personal attendant started anouncing my arrival so I clicked on her got the option to set her so i clicked dismiss and she went back to a deed in my backpack. I didn't have a deed on me or a token when I went there. I logged out went to my house with other char and my attendant was still at my door greeting, I get back on with char at DF and still have that deed! So WTHF is going on??????? Anyone Know??????

Nothing much to say, but he's out of the NICU, and in the general population. Another overflow room, with a 'roommate', but at least he's good enough to leave.

Basically just waiting to see how his shunt is doing and to heal. They said his head is a little swollen, but nothing to be worried about yet.

Still ready to get him out of here around Wednesday. the house is ready and so are we. Two weeks of hospitals is more than enough, but as long as he's healthy and gets the care he needs we be here until then.

He has the 2nd part of his shunt put in tomorrow. The catheter part has been rubbing against his ventricle so they're going to revise it and put it in the same spot, but a different angle, so hopefully no more problems there. He has a little pooled in the area, but not enough to not have surgery. Sometimes the protein will clog the tubing, and we don't want to have to replace that right away. This time he should get off the respirator right after surgery, and if not within the same day, and then he'll be back to his good 'ol self. He's already gotten a personality, which is mild and calm thankfully. He fusses a bit when he's going #2 but who doesn't? I know I do. He's on 'ad lib' feeding, which means give him what he wants, so that's another step closer to getting him home.

They do over 300 shunt procedures a year at this hospital so I think they are getting pretty good at it. Other than that from the catheter, he's been doing awesome, and it isn't that uncommon, so he's on the right track to a speedy recovery.
